Hi, I’m Darci.

Yes, I know, a bit of a fancy name for a shy guy like me. I’m a 7-year-old black cat with medium-length fur and a cautious heart. I’ve been in two different homes already, and while the people were kind, I never quite felt safe enough to let my guard down. So, I’m still waiting for my person—the one who sees past the hisses and understands that I’m not mean, just scared.

When you first meet me, I might give you a little warning hiss. It’s not personal. I just don’t know you yet. But if you sit with me quietly and give me time, I’ll surprise you. I actually like gentle pats, especially when I know you’re not in a rush. There’s a sweet cat in here—I promise—he just needs a little extra time to come out.

I’m looking for a calm home. No loud noises, no sudden movements, and ideally no other pets or young kids. I’d love a sunny window to sit near, a few cozy hiding spots, and someone who will love me exactly as I am, while helping me feel safe enough to become who I’m meant to be.

Maybe you’ve been overlooked before too. Maybe you know what it’s like to need space, and to be seen for more than just your fear. If that sounds like you, I think we might be perfect for each other.
